How to give feedback

Feedback is one of the highest-leverage ways to contribute as a driver. This page adapts the openpilot feedback process for zoompilot.

Driving feedback

Got feedback about how your car drives? Join the zoompilot Discord and post it with the route ID.

Before posting, please make sure:

  • zoompilot is up to date. Run the latest zoompilot/main release.
  • Both road-facing cameras have a clear view. The windscreen is clean, the lenses are clean.
  • The device is mounted properly. Centered horizontally and relatively high on the windshield.

Steering and tune feedback

Steering feel is zoompilot's core work. Useful feedback includes:

  • Car model and year, and whether the EPS rack is original or swapped.
  • The speed range where something feels off.
  • Whether self-tune was on, and roughly how many miles the install has.
  • Route IDs from the drives in question.

Other bugs

Open an issue on the zoompilot issue tracker. Include the release version (for example 2026.08.25-8), your car, and the steps to reproduce.
